On Tuesday, the high court made its decision regarding Dania Shah’s bail application, which was reserved on February 8.

She had previously been denied bail by the district and session courts of Karachi. Later, she approached the high court and argued that since there was no evidence against her, the judicial remand should be lifted and her bail granted.

Her application was approved by the high court, which also ordered her to submit 200,000 rupee surety bonds.

In December 2022, the FIA Cybercrime Wing arrested Dania Shah, the late televangelist Dr. Amir Liaquat’s widow, from the Southern Punjab city of Lodhran for allegedly filming and creating viral private videos of her husband that traumatized him.

Bushra, Aamir Liaquat’s first wife’s daughter, had filed a complaint in this regard.

Shah admitted during one of the court proceedings that, despite the fact that the relevant videos were on her phone, she had no idea who had taken them out of the device and posted them online.

The suspect, according to the case’s prosecution, made videos of intimate moments and uploaded them to the internet to spread quickly.

He asked for the suspect to be remanded so that he could continue the case’s investigation.

The suspect was not acting alone, but rather as a member of a larger gang, the prosecutor added.

Liaquat Gabol, Shah’s attorney, argued that the prosecution did not have any evidence to support the allegations made against his client.

Dania Shah’s bail application was denied by a Karachi court on January 23, and Gabol appealed the decision in SHC.

The parties’ arguments on the accused Dania Shah’s bail application were completed on February 8.

According to Liaquat Gabol, Shah was not responsible for the numbers that were used to send the videos viral.
