Steps to reform the education and examination system to eliminate duplication

Social evils are innumerable, in which cheating in examinations is also considered to be the root of these evils, due to which private educational institutions and education boards, apart from teachers, are often criticized for solving this important problem and reducing the problems of students.  Eight education boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including Kohat Board, have come into action and come up with a solution to end the issue, which will end the game of position and marks in examinations and to introduce grading system in examinations.  Practical measures have been initiated in this regard, a workshop was organized in Parachinar under the auspices of the Kohat Education Board, in which male and female principals and senior teachers from across the district participated.

In her speech, the chairperson of Kohat Education Board, Samina Altaf, said that listening to boti mafia and other types of words in the exams creates a strange feeling on the mind of a person and even more painful news often comes after the results of the exams.  There are cases in which students who are disappointed with the results commit suicide and become a cause of destruction not only for themselves but also for their families.  Principals and senior teachers of private and public schools are being trained on students’ learning outcomes and workshops are being organized for this purpose. Teachers are being trained on marking.  This procedure will be fully adopted from 2024, God willing, the new system will provide justice to children and parents.

Chairman of Abbottabad Education Board Muhammad Shafiq Awan says that the new grading system we are introducing in the exams will eliminate the rote system and develop students’ ability to think and understand and the 21st century is the century of rote or numbering.  No. It is a century of communication thinking and creative thinking. Besides, the Students Learning Out Come (SLO) new method of examination has many advantages, that’s why we are actively working to introduce the new system.

Assistant Commissioner Parachinar Amir Nawaz said that the federal board is already working on the grading system of the exams and the steps taken by the eight education boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are encouraging in this regard in a function organized by the Kohat Board in Parachinar with the support of the district administration.  The teachers learned a lot about the new examination system. The district administration will fully cooperate with the educational institutions in implementing the new system.

Director General Commerce Ghazanfar Ali described the new examination system as the need of the hour and said that many problems will be solved by ending the current examination system.  Implementation of grading system is a good step to remove the existing defects in the system

Headmaster Union Parachinar President Murtaza Hussain said that the teachers learned a lot in the SLO-based training and it is necessary to conduct such seminars and workshops to familiarize themselves with the new examination system.  Council Chairman Muhammad Hayat Khan said that the grading system is an important need of the modern examination system. The grading system will bring transparency in the examination system.
