The recent developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have brought attention to the performance of the provincial caretaker government and the formation of a new political party with a focus on the caretaker government’s role and the emergence of Tehreek-i-Insaf Parliamentarian.

Did the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have to resigned or de-notifying the cabinet members of provincial assembly due to its poor performance? What role from a provincial care taker government can be expected so for?

“The constitutional role of a caretaker provincial cabinet is to ensure the smooth functioning of the government during the transitional period between the dissolution of an elected government and the formation of a new one. The caretaker cabinet is responsible for maintaining law and order, providing essential services, and overseeing the day-to-day affairs of the province until a new government is elected. Its primary objective is to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process and create an environment conducive to free and fair elections. The caretaker cabinet is expected to remain impartial and avoid making any major policy decisions that could impact the upcoming elections” and no more.

Or the care taker cabinet members were asked to resign due to political affiliation with various political parties in order to ensure neutrality and fairness during the transitional period? If yes so why election commission did not noticed since January 2023?

Not at all, but the actual performance in which the Provincial care taker government got failed, was something else. Indeed the care taker cabinet had been tasked to minimize the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf street power and vote bank in the province but the recent by-election for Tehsil Nazim brought the performance of the caretaker government into focus. Despite their efforts to minimize the street power and vote bank of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party, a PTI candidate emerged victorious. This outcome came into glance suggests a failure in the caretaker government’s strategy and execution. Despite the deployment of government machinery and mainstream media against PTI, the party’s popularity and resilience prevailed yet.

On the other hand the former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Ministers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Pervez Khattak and Mehmood Khan who in lieu of 9th May incident along with other PTI members have parted ways and formed their own party, is being called Tehreek-i-Insaf Parliamentarian.

As always, Pervez Khattak continued to boast, saying that Imran Khan’s party cannot win any seat in elections without him.

Well, Khattak had even challenged on the Assembly floor to show any dilapidated or mud house and poverty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. But it is said that in order to eliminate the vote bank of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, the upcoming new cabinet has the possibility of including as many members as possible under Pervez Khattak group. These facilities, using the name of Tehreek-i-Insaf, will prove the mega projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if any, of Pervez Khattak and Mehmood Khan’s ten-year achievements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and in this way, they can easily break Imran Khan’s vote.
