Swat Mining Corporation, founded in 1952 by the visionary Late. Bakhtmand Khan, has left an indelible mark on the mining industry, specializing in the extraction of Potash Feldspar, Silica Quartz, Mica, China Clay, and various other industrial minerals. The company’s journey, marked by expertise and resilience, took a significant turn after the passing of its founder in 2006.

Upon the demise of Late. Bakhtmand Khan, his four sons undertook the responsibility of steering the company into new horizons. The corporation underwent a strategic transformation, leading to the creation of four distinct entities. Swat Mining Corporation was reborn as Swat Mining Corporation North, with the late Mr. Anwar Hayat at the helm. Tragically, in 2020, the industry lost another stalwart as Mr. Anwar Hayat passed away, prompting the ascension of his eldest son, Mr. Zarak Ahmad Jan, to the position of CEO.

Born on June 28, 1992, in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Zarak Ahmad Jan’s journey to leadership began with his education. Starting at Convent Public School Sangota Swat, he progressed to The City School Swat for his O’ Levels before transitioning to the Matriculation system at The Educators School Swat and Froebels School and College Swat. In 2011, Mr. Zarak embarked on his engineering education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2015.

Mr. Zarak’s professional ascent within Swat Mining Corporation North exemplifies his dedication and competence. Joining the family business as a Trainee Operations Manager, he swiftly climbed the organizational hierarchy, achieving the position of General Manager. The untimely demise of his father in 2020 thrust him into the role of CEO, where his leadership has propelled Swat Mining Corporation North to new heights, solidifying its status as one of the premier mining companies in Pakistan.
