The State Investigation Agency (SIA), that operates under the supervision of New Delhi, has taken more Jamaat-e-Islami properties in the Kashmir Valley, which are illegally under Indian occupation.
The Kashmir Valley’s Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipora, and Baramulla districts are among those where the JI’s property has been taken.
As many as 188 JI properties have been identified by the SIA across IIOJK, and these properties are being seized or attached as part of the next step. The move is meant to penalise the group for its involvement in the current Kashmir liberation movement.
In the occupied territory, the SIA has already confiscated a number of JI-owned properties.
