ISLAMABAD: According to sources who spoke to Geo News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif constituted a committee on Saturday to examine, evaluate, and handle the situation relating to the PTI’s lengthy march.
The committee is made up of 13 federal cabinet officials, according to the sources. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah will serve as its leader.
Sources claimed that the committee was established to address the law and order crisis and advised anyone who wanted to discuss the long march to do so with the committee.
Ayaz Sadiq, the minister for economic affairs, Khawaja Saad Rafique, the minister for railroads, adviser to the prime minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the MQM-P convener, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, the leader of the ANP, Asad Mehmood, and Marriyum Aurangzeb are reportedly members of the committee.
In a previous Twitter Space conversation, Sanaullah had asserted that the government has no authority to forbid PTI from holding a protest “if Imran Niazi wants to do it in a peaceful manner.”
But if the PTI tries to occupy Islamabad, the government will use all of its might to thwart it, he had declared.
