*Writer Muhammad Farrukh Sajjad*

The problems associated with the education system of Subcontinent are lack of adequate budget, lack of policy implementation, defective examination system, poor physical facilities, lack of teacher quality, lack of implementation of education policies, directionless education, low enrollment, high scale dropouts, political Issues etc…The main reason behind this is negligence of administration and corruption at grass root levels. Poverty is main reason behind poor education system. Teacher are segregating students on the basis of caste in various parts of Subcontinent . All this is happening under government’s nose and administration is ignoring all this like it is a mundane routine. What is Education System?
The system of education includes all institutions that are involved in delivering formal education (public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, onsite or virtual instruction) and their faculties, students, physical infrastructure, resources and rules. In a broader definition the system also includes the institutions that are directly involved in financing, managing, operating or regulating such institutions (like government ministries and regulatory bodies, central testing organizations, textbook boards and accreditation boards). The rules and regulations that guide the individual and institutional interactions within the set up are also part of the education system.
Education system of Pakistan:
The education system of Pakistan is comprised of 260,903 institutions and is facilitating 41,018,384 students with the help of 1,535,461 teachers. The system includes 180,846 public institutions and 80,057 private institutions. Hence 31% educational institutes are run by private sector while 69% are public institutes.Analysis of education system in PakistanPakistan has expressed its commitment to promote education and literacy in the country by education policies at domestic level and getting involved into international commitments on education. In this regard national education policies are the visions which suggest strategies to increase literacy rate, capacity building, and enhance facilities in the schools and educational institutes. MDGs and EFA programmes are global commitments of Pakistan for the promotion of literacy. A review of the education system of Pakistan suggests that there has been little change in Pakistan’s schools since 2010, when the 18th Amendment enshrined education as a fundamental human right in the constitution. Problems of access, quality, infrastructure and inequality of opportunity, remain endemic. And inequality of opportunity, remain endemic.
*Issues* There are some reasons regarding lagging behind of Subcontinent education.*CORRUPTION*-Govt. allot a fund for every school in india which is supposed to be spent on kids education and school infrastructure but there are some cases in which teachers and tehsildars used that money for their personal use by window dressing accounts of their school or department. The fund which is to be used for books, stationery and sports material for students is spent by some selfish teachers and school administration on their home expenses. I m not saying that every teacher is corrupt but some are.
*BUREAUCRACY*- RED TAPISM or BUREAUCRACY is like a nightmare that never ends. The process which can be finished in a week , takes months to process. When school demands for certain infrastructural development in their schools, they had to wait for years only because of slow bureaucracy. Take example of my an Indian  school,  my friend was telling me that when I was in 8th ( year 2010) our headmaster said that your school is about to experience some infrastructural development coz most of the classes were under tin shed. It is now year 2020 and the building process was started a few months back and it will take minimum 2 years to complete.
*RESERVATION* Students don’t know what is caste until they clear 10th class exam. The segregation game of students on basis of caste starts from there. In 11th class everyone know that who is of which caste. Because of reservation some unqualified teachers get job in govt. Institutions like school or colleges. Atleast withdraw reservation for the post of teachers.
*CENTURIES OLD STUDY MATERIAL* The study material of schools is totally outdated. Everything needs to be changed completely. Books are not interesting to catch students attention. Only few figures are shown in books to explain things. Most of the facts are outdated in Board BOOKS. If someone read all that he will still need to update his learnt ideas and knowledge.
*RACE OVER MARKS BUT NOT ON LEARNING OR UNDERSTANDING THINGS* Everyone is running and pushing himself/herself to get maximum marks by RATTA- FICATION. Yes, I mean it, everybody is competing in a rat race just to get more marks than others, main focus should be on learning not on competition. If a student is brilliant and is a quick learner after getting result see that he got less marks than someone else, he disparage himself for that.A great man had said that *“ MARKS CANNOT JUDGE AN INDIVIDUALS’ KNOWLEDGE AND INTELLECT, THEY JUST SHOW LEARNING CAPACITY*

*CHEATING*-Some Students are fond of cheating, they try to cheat in every process. We listen  students cheat in their Various exam just to gain reputation. The brighter students don’t get admissions for higher education while some dull students get seats in colleges by cheating and getting good marks. Recently My Sister scored 91% in 12th exams, She was quite satisfied with her result and hoping that she would get admission in PU but last cutoff reached 98% Students from Punjab have scored 98%, 96% marks , what was she in front of them.*POLITICS IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS* Politics should not be a part of educational institution because it withdraws student attention from learning to politics. Colleges and universities in Subcontinent are known for fights by political parties of college or university. Take the case of JNU in India students spend most of the time in protesting and fighting. Every now and then they find some foolish reasons for protesting.7.) BORING TECHNIQUES- Students need something innovation to learn new things, they should be given research infrastructure to carry out something on their own. Our education is based on THEORY not on practical. Students lose their interest for studies after some time because there is nothing to find or discover on their own. There are many more problems, if I were to write each and every problem, it would take a lot times.
