Why is the allocation of foodstuff a big challenge for the people and Government ?

The Government of Pakistan announcement of providing free foodstuff (Atta) to its citizens is a step towards good governance but it needs more focus and planning to benefit the poor masses in the era of inflation in the month of Ramadan with honor and respect. This planning may include the way they distribute the food stuff to avoid any sort of beggaries, clash and bloodshed. From dawn to dusk the standing of people in long rows does not give good symptoms of Good Governance. Our leaders must think over it. What sort of messages are we delivering to the world in the holy month of Ramadan (the month of tolerance, sacrifices) when viral pictures on social media show our avidity, hastiness and negative attitude to the world? The process of beating and killing each other for the sac of food stuff presents our avarice in the world. The government’s decision would have more positive impacts if other edible things (sugar, tea, rice, date) could be included in its sketch. The world is leading towards sustainable approach, development and prosperity. It is a question of sorrow and shame that we have not developed our system in the last 75 years. In fact, each government tries her best to assist the people in many ways. The first and foremost is no doubt to provide relief and services to its citizens without any discrimination and it is called good governance. We are far away from it. Islam believes in allotment of wealth on an equal basis so that no one remains poor or deprived. The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, a person may not be considered Muslim if he/she is bellyful and his neighbor sleeps agape. When the Chief Secretary KPK presided over a meeting on Free Atta distribution yesterday, he clearly mentioned that 57 lac people will benefit from the scheme. Just in four days 17 lac people had got food stuff from the free points. Although, he mentioned and appreciated the role of secretaries who are responsible and will monitor the free Atta distribution process through their departments under their jurisdictions. But he did not mention the worst situation, debacle on the spot and did not put responsibility on anyone. At many breadstuff spots the killing of people by angry mobs had already been reported. From morning to evening long rows of people could be seen at food stuff points, with a huge number of women standing for their paroxysm. This trend in the community could be seen from many angles as exploitation by critics while others called it assistance to the poor. The world has focused on the human development process to make its nation strong and sustainable. We have had a list of more than 24 Prime Ministers over a period of 75 years, but no one has prioritized the human issues particularly, the poverty, resources and population from the core of heart. Because all the leaders/rulers work for their power, lust, kith and kin and never for the people. When we go through our past we can see how the leaders of parties exploited the economy of the country right from NRO to Tosha Khana. Actually, from the journey of Parliamentary government to democratic no one was sincere and committed, to the country and people. The problems of poverty, exploitation and deprivation are increasing day by day, and now the country is leading towards bankruptcy, bale, and destruction .Just imagine in the 195, the people in Pakistan received a sack of foodstuff  on the charge of their blood. After announcement by the Federal Government for providing breadstuff to the poor and destitute   class mayhem has been roared in the country. It does not seem to be a programme sponsored by the Government to give relief to the masses .It is just like engaging the poor masses in activities which have resulted in dishonor and abject. To realize the people’s problems and develop mechanisms for relief and facilities to the people must be the Goal of authority and rulers and this needs planning from the gross root level. On the eve of 21^st century, science and technology are running to find sacks of foodstuff. If the leaders could not solve the problems of people they must resign to save themselves from the plague. It is a time for our leaders, rulers and planners to decide for the welfare, prosperity of the state and not to play with the people’s sentiments. A well-known Philosopher once said, don’t ask questions from people that may be asked by Allah. Don’t ask what your religion is? Do you pray or not? Ask questions from people which should be asked on the basis of humanity? Ask them what problems you have and what help I can render for you? Are you hungry? If we are poor we must recognize our shortcomings, should improve our skills and make sacrifices for others if we want to survive on the earth with respect.
