Karachi: Defending champions Karachi Kings will lock horns against Peshawar Zalmi, the table-toppers of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six today in the first match of Wednesday’s double-header.
Kings led by Imad Wasim have won two and lost as many while Wahab Riaz’s Zalmi have won their three matches consecutively after losing the opening fixture to Lahore Qalandars.
Kings is hoping for consistency from their bowling department as they have allowed teams to chase down targets of 190+.
The dew is playing a huge part to batters during night games but Kings who have the likes of Mohammad Amir, Arshad Iqbal, Imad Wasim, it is likely that today they will break the pattern if they bowl second as they are playing their fifth match in the mid-evening.
The batting has been top of the game with Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam, Joe Clarke, Mohammad Nabi in the best of the forms.
Meanwhile, Zalmi has shocked everyone with their play. They looked rusty in their first encounter however, they have completely turned the tables as they are clicking in all departments of the game.
The battle is expected in between Kings’ batting and Zalmi’s experienced bowling attack. England’s Saqib Mehmood has emerged as a key part of Zalmi. He is currently the leading wicket-taker of the PSL 6 while skipper Wahab has bagged eight.
