Youth most important asset of nation, needs best education, moral training: Governor Punjab

.Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman chaired a meeting regarding the consortium on  Character Building at Governor House Lahore today. Convener of Consortium, Vice Chancellor Government College University Sialkot, Dr. Rukhsana Kausar ,  Dr. Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur, Dr. Suleman Tahir, Vice Chancellor Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology Rahim Yar Khan, Vice Chancellor Mir Chakar Khan Rind University of Technology, DG Khan, Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Prof. Dr. Nabila Rehman, Vice Chancellor University of Jhang, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafari, Vice Chancellor of National College of Arts and other members of the consortium were present on this occasion. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellors informed the Governor Punjab about the progress made on the consortium on character building.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that youth are the most valuable asset of the nation and they need to be given good education along with moral training . He said that teachers should focus on the character building of the students and tell them about the significance of positive traits of character along with teaching the syllabus. Governor Punjab said that a lot of emphasis has been laid on high morals and character building in our religion. Governor Punjab directed the members of the Consortium on Character Building to submit final recommendations based on the research in the next meeting. He said that a plan of action will be decided in the light of the recommendations suggested by the members of the consortium formed on character building in the next meeting.

Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman asked the members of the consortium to tell the students case studies of people who have achieved success in the society through hard work and merit. He underscored the need to mobilize the students for public awareness campaign on social media regarding character building. Governor Punjab further said that the teachers should tell the students that ultimate success lies in the truth, and tell them not to believe what they hear on social media and do not spread  it further without research. On the occasion, the members of the consortium gave various suggestions including making community work mandatory for character building of students in the syllabus and use social media in character building etc
