PESHAWAR: Students of Department of rehabilitation Sciences (Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University) visited to one of the state main Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Institute “Paraplegic center Peshawar” here on Wednesday.During the visit Dr. Amir Zaib, Associate Professor and coordinator welcome the students and gave them informative presentation. Students got the chance to enhance their knowledge and polish their skills. Paraplegic center Peshawar is an independent rehabilitative health care center that is working by the support of the department of health, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Patient care, physical rehabilitation services and treatment is free of cost. People who suffer from neurological disease and congenital deformities, traumatic spinal cord injuries, polio, post-polio paralysis are treated at the center.
Paraplegic center Peshawar is a multidisciplinary health care approach and work with an inter disciplinary team include, Rehab Doctors, Spine and Orthopedic surgeons, Neuro-Surgeon, Medical Doctor, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, Orthotist, Pharmacist, Nutritionist, Wheelchair Practitioner, Social Worker, Vocational Trainer and Rehab Engineer. At the end, CEO met with students and motivated them to learn more to become the future leaders.
