Muzaffarabad (Daily Country News) – July 04, 2026
An organized campaign has been circulating on social media since this morning, claiming alleged attacks, shelling, and firing by law enforcement agencies at the Rawalakot Dreik Eidgah sit-in (dharna). These claims are entirely baseless, misleading, and contrary to the facts. No operation or action of any kind has been taken at the Dreik Eidgah sit-in.
According to a press release issued by the spokesperson for the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Azad Kashmir:
”Mischievous elements associated with the banned Action Committee are utilizing old, unrelated videos to incite anxiety among the public. Their aim is to undermine public trust in state institutions and law enforcement agencies. Facing a decline in their reputation, lack of public interest at the Dreik sit-in, and a massive departure of participants, the Action Committee is resorting to such dramatics and deceitful tactics. However, they will not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.”
We appeal to all peaceful citizens and social media users to prioritize national interest, act with responsibility, and exercise restraint. Please verify the authenticity of any news or video before sharing it, and rely solely on information obtained from credible and official sources. Refrain from becoming part of any misleading, hateful, or provocative campaign.
Our topmost priority remains the maintenance of peace, the supremacy of the law, and the safety of the public. We deeply respect the constitutional and legal rights of every citizen and ensure that all actions are taken strictly in accordance with the law.
