Business leaders express strong interest as discussions focus on boosting economic activity through public-private partnerships
Islamabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has emphasized that the natural beauty and peaceful environment of Kashmir offer an attractive destination not only for tourists but also for investors seeking viable business opportunities. He assured that the AJK government is committed to providing maximum facilitation and security to investors.
The Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with Secretary General of the United Business Group, Zafar Bakhtawari, and Abid Bakhtawari. The meeting focused on enhancing mutual cooperation, promoting investment, and strengthening business linkages between stakeholders.
Highlighting the region’s economic potential, the Prime Minister stated that Azad Kashmir offers promising investment opportunities in multiple sectors, including information technology, tourism, energy, minerals, agriculture, and housing. He noted that the government is actively pursuing effective policy measures to simplify investment procedures and create a business-friendly environment.
Both sides underscored the importance of public-private partnerships to accelerate economic growth in the region. It was agreed that collaborative initiatives would help stimulate economic activity and further strengthen investor confidence.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Azad Kashmir is an ideal destination for investment, offering a conducive environment for business ventures. He added that the government is determined to ensure ease of doing business and provide necessary incentives to attract both local and foreign investors.
Speaking on the occasion, Zafar Bakhtawari said that the business community has a keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Azad Kashmir. He emphasized that the private sector can play a vital role in driving economic development in the region. By facilitating investors, he noted, not only can employment opportunities be created, but regional trade can also be significantly enhanced.
He further reaffirmed the United Business Group’s commitment to playing an active role in promoting investment and supporting economic growth initiatives in Azad Kashmir.
