Azad Jammu Kashmir government is organising Jashn E Baharan festival from 16 march to 20 march in Mirpur division. In a meeting attended by Minister for Physical Planning and Housing, Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Tourism Secretary Ms. Madhat Shahzad, Sports Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Raqib, and other officials finalised the preparations of the mega event.
In the meeting, it was decided that the people along with all the institutions will make this festival a success. In Jashn E Baharan, people will be provided with healthy recreational facilities including the promotion of Kashmiri culture and traditional sports.
The opening ceremony of Jashn E Baharan will be held on March 16 at the cricket stadium, in which students of schools and colleges will participate.
Various cultural programs including music, Sufi night, and different types of stalls will be organized in Asifa Bhutto Park on 17th and 18th. In addition to the shuttle bus service to various historical places organized, a jeep rally will be organized which will go from New Mirpur to Old Mirpur.
On March 18 and 19, horse riding, horse racing, horse dancing, kabaddi, arm wrestling, stone lifting, football will be held in Lahri. Women’s volleyball, water sports, book stalls, agriculture exhibitions and different types of stalls should also be set up in which Kashmiri civilization and culture will be highlighted. Matches will be held in Sahansa District Kotli.
