The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan today handed over a relief cheque of 48 crores for the earthquake victims of Türkiye to the Ambassador of Türkiye Dr. Mehmet Paçacı Turkish embassy in Islamabad on Friday.
On the behalf of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, PM AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan donated the amount to the earthquake victims. The Turkish Ambassador expressed his special gratitude to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan prayed for the earthquake martyrs of Turkiye and Syria. Speaking to the Turkish ambassador, Prime Minister AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that the Kashmiri and Türkiye people are like two hearts in one soul, the Kashmiri people will stand with their Turkish brothers and sisters in these times of trouble.
He said that, during the 2005 earthquake, Türkiye generously supported the Kashmiri people. Now the situation in Turkiye is very difficult, but the determination of the Turkish nation is strong, Turkish nation under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will quickly overcome the difficulties after the earthquake.
Expressing solidarity on behalf of the people of AJK, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas said that the government of Azad Kashmir stands side by side with the people of Turkiye. The Kashmiri nation has seen the terrible devastation of the catastrophic earthquake in 2005. During the 2005 earthquake, Türkiye was the first friend and sympathizer of Pakistan and Kashmiris.
PM AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan also gave a message to the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He said that we pray that the people of Türkiye complete the work of reconstruction and rehabilitation as soon as possible.
On this occasion, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan Dr. Mehmet Paçacı thanked the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, the ministers included in the delegation.
It is pertinent to mention that senior leaders of AJK government including Diwan Ali Khan Chaghatai, Abdul Majid Khan, Akmal Hussain Sargala, Chief Secretary Muhammad Osman Chachar, Special Assistant Raja Sabeel Riaz, Media Advisor Sardar Zahid Tabasim were part of the delegation visit to Turkish Embassy in Islamabad.
