Clean-up drive underway in federal capital amid coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: Despite increasing cases of coronavirus in the federal capital, the staff of the Metropolitan Corporation continued their work. A clean-up drive is underway on the special instructions of Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz.

Director Sanitation MCI, Sardar Khan Zamri is not only supervising the ongoing sanitation campaign but also visiting different areas and sectors. While visiting different sectors, he resolves, the problems of sanitation staff engaged in regular sanitation campaign regarding protective equipment including masks, gloves, sanitizers, kits, etc.

Yesterday, Sardar Khan Zamri along with Rangers and police officers, visited G-9 areas sealed and locked down by the district administration. He attended a function for distribution of masks, gloves and other items provided by an NGO for MCI sanitation staff. He thanked the cleaning staff who worked hard every morning to keep the city clean and called them heroes. He ensured that, he would do everything possible to protect the cleaning staff. He also thanked all the national and foreign organizations and personalities who cooperated for the members of the cleaning staff.
