Malakand: The Commissioner Malakand Division visited Bamburait Kalash where he met the elders of the kalash community here on Monday . A jirga was comprising of Kalash elders, held in connection with acquisitions cheques distribution pertaining to lands acquired for graveyards and religious rituals. Addressing the occasion Commissioner Malakand Riaz Khan Mahsud told that these were the old standing demands of Kalash community for their survival. He also appreciated the efforts of Ddeputy commissioner Chitral lower Mr. Navid Ahmed, who worked very diligently in achieving these milestones.While distributing cheques amongst the owner of lands, Commissioner Malakand added that the individuals in kalash community, according to their religious rituals have to make huge expenditures like slaughtering of 60-70 goats in case of a death in their families. This is a huge burden for the poor people of this culturally rich community which the government need to support. Riaz Khan Mahsud furthered that The CM khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mehmud khan visited Chitral in October 2019. In order to lessen the burden in terms of expenditures involved in case of death in kalash community, he requested the honourable CM for donations to raise an endowment fund. The CM was gracious enough to announce Rs. 50 Millions for raising this fund. “Today by the grace of Allah, this money has been released by the Finance Department before the budget and its cheque will be handed over to the community soon” he announced. The community elders show extreme happiness on hearing this news and thanked the Govt of KP for this positive gesture.Mahsud said that this is a great innovative step which is aimed to help the Kalash community in carrying out its religious rituals and festivities. These funds will be managed by the committee to be constituted and established by the people from kalash community and will be kept in Banks/Financial institutions giving the highest returns/ profits.[8:01 PM, 6/29/2020] Hameed Uncl: Additional Assistant Commissioner Takhtbhai, Farman Ali took charge of his post in takhtbhai and immediately summoned a meeting with PM Tiger Force and instructed them to continue following covid – 19 SOPs and also keep on educating the public about the pandemic and relevant SOPs. Furthermore, he visited Shergarh bazaar accompanied by police officials and briefed the public regarding Covid – 19 SOPs and also inspected if any violations were being made. Also, anti-encroachment was enforced and he ordered temporary encroachments to be removed willingly as soon as possible otherwise the administration will be forced to demolish them.
