BAGH: Chief Organizer PML-N AJK and AJK Minister for Information, Tourism, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Raja Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas paid rich tribute to the former PM Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on the eve of Youm e Takbeer observed in Pakistan on Thursday. He expressed this in his special message released from Bagh. Youm-e-Takbeer was observed across the country on Thursday with great zeal and fervor. On 28th May in 1998, responding to Indian nuclear tests, Pakistan carried out five successful nuclear tests in Chaghi, Balochistan followed by another nuclear test on 30th May in Kharan. After these nuclear tests Pakistan became seventh nuclear power of the world and first in the Muslim world. These nuclear tests gave a clear message to the world that despite Pakistan is a peace loving country but it cannot ignore its defence needs and is capable of meeting any challenge and threat. Mushtaq Minhas said that the former PM Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif played his important role in making Pakistan nuclear power despite a number of pressures at that time. Big powers of that time including the United States (US) made catchy offers to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for stopping Pakistan from getting the nuclear technology. But, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif did not accept any offer and took brave step to make Pakistan a nuclear power state, he added. Information Minister also lauded the efforts of scientists in making country’s defense strong by the addition of nuclear weapons.
