RAWALAKOT: Five-day polio campaign to kick off in Poonch from August 17, 2020. Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mirza Arshad Mehmood Jaral has said that all government departments should play their role to make the five-day polio campaign a success from August 17 to 21, 2020. He expressed these views while addressing a high-level meeting in the office chamber of District Health Officer Poonch.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, who is also the chairman of the District Polio Campaign Committee, said that district administration and police would play a full part in the campaign launched under the supervision of the Public Health Department. Keeping in view the ongoing corona pandemic, he stressed to follow SOPs during polio campaign so that we can protect ourselves and our children from coronavirus.
Briefing on the occasion, District Health Officer Poonch said that 392 teams have been appointed to make the campaign a success starting from August 17. Moreover, 42 sides have been fixed, there will be 90 area incharge along with 28 UCMOs. A total of 82,616 children will be vaccinated in district Poonch during five-day polio campaign. DHO urged Social Welfare Officers, Education Officer ADNRSP, religious scholars to take all possible steps to make this campaign successful, so that our next generation could be safe from this deadly disease.
