Islamabad: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, has strongly criticized the Indian judiciary, alleging that biased judges affiliated with the RSS have exposed their true face before the world by handing down harsh sentences to Kashmiri leaders.

In a statement while speaking to various delegations, he said that a pro-freedom Kashmiri woman, Asiya Andrabi, had been sentenced to three life imprisonments, while Naheeda Nasreen and Sofi Fahmeeda were each awarded 30-year prison terms. He claimed that such verdicts reflect that Indian courts are delivering decisions under the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Mushtaq Khan called upon the International Court of Justice and global human rights organizations to take notice of what he termed an “open crime.” He further urged the United Nations to address serious human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He also appealed to Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to impose political, diplomatic, and economic boycotts on India over what he described as discriminatory sentencing against Kashmiris based on their Muslim identity.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader emphasized that the Government of Pakistan should intensify its diplomatic efforts at the international level, warning that the lives of Kashmiri leaders and other detainees in Indian prisons are at serious risk.

He asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should abandon the misconception that the Kashmir freedom movement can be suppressed through oppression, adding that the people of Kashmir will continue their struggle until they achieve freedom. He reaffirmed that Jamaat-e-Islami will stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir until their goal of independence is realized.
