ISLAMABAD: Krishna Mohan Pandey, Advocate Indian High Court Allahabad, Utter Pardesh has issued a letter to Public Information Officer, PM House 110011. The letter is meant to provide information under RTI Act 2005 regarding false claim made by Narendra Modi on his official visit to Bangladesh dated March 26, 2021.The letter has urged the authority concerned of Modi’s office to provide detail of the following questions.First, In which charges PM Modi was arrested in Satyagraha(Insistence on speaking or following Truth) for freedom struggle of Bangladesh and asked to present the certified FIR copy in the court.Secondly, PM Modi was arrested and kept in which jail of India or Pakistan.Thirdly, PM Modi spent how many days in jail during his Satyagraha. When Modi was on a two-day visit to the Bangladesh to take part in the golden jubilee celebration of Bangladesh’s independence and the birth centenary of its first President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as his first trip to a foreign country since outbreak of the coronavirus.According to the details Prime Minister Narendra Modi while speaking at Bangladesh’s National Day programme claimed that one of his first protests was for the freedom of Bangladesh, for which he was even sent to jail. “I must have been 20-22 years old when me and my colleagues did a Satyagraha for the freedom of the people of Bangladesh,” he said this at the event. Modi also posthumously honoured Rahman with the Gandhi Peace Prize and handed over the award to Rahman’s daughter Sheikh Rehana and congratulated the people of Bangladesh for their 50th year of Independence and thanked the government for making him a part of the celebrations.
The prime minister said India and Bangladesh were connected by their sacrifices. Modi remembered the “sons and daughters” of Bangladesh, who risked their lives for the country. “Today I also salute the brave soldiers of the Indian Army who stood with the brothers and sisters of Bangladesh in their freedom struggle,” he added.Modi said that India and Bangladesh had a shared heritage. “It is a pleasant coincidence that the 50 years of independence of Bangladesh and 75 years of independence of India have come together,” he said adding that both the neighbouring countries share similar challenges in trade, and also face similar problems in dealing with terrorism. He added. “India is delighted that ‘Made In India’ vaccines are treating people in Bangladesh. The above were the key points of Modi’s speech in Bangladesh but the very thing which has upset and rippled not only the indians but Muslims of other parts of the world is his biggest lie of claiming to be a part of the Satyagraha for the struggle of independent Bangladesh. After hearing Modi lying in the speech people got enraged and started tweeting and messaging using harsh language against the PM on social media.Though the government officials of Bangladesh had welcomed the Indian PM enthusiastically but several hundreds of Hefazat-e-Islam activists gathered after Friday prayers in Chittagong to protest the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The police, on the other hand, erected barricades and blocked the roads, infuriating the activists.According to eyewitnessesthe protesters attempted to dismantle the barricades, which sparked the clash. To disperse the demonstrators, police used tear gas shells and live bullets, as well as beating them with batons.“Four people died and their bodies were taken to the morgue for autopsy,” Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of the Chittagong Medical College Police Outpost, said. Earlier, in Dhaka, dozens of people were wounded, including three journalists, when police used tear gas shells to disperse demonstrators who were planning to march on a major road against the visit of India’s prime minister. After the weekly Friday prayers, the protesters planned to begin a rally from the northern gate of Baitul Mukarram mosque in Dhaka. However, the police refused to let them allow. The area quickly became a battleground as some people pelted the police with stones, prompting them to retaliate with tear gas shelling.Hundreds of plainclothes men carrying sticks targeted the protesters as well. Police were also seen sitting in riot shielded vehicles firing on the demonstrators.Protesters set fire to many vehicles, including motorcycles. After nearly two hours, the police were able to get the situation under control.Go back Modi Go back! The protestors were chanting the above slogan. For the first time ever in the history, any Indian PM has faced such outrage on his visit to Bangladesh. The protests are against Modi government for badly treating the Indian Muslims and Kashmiris. Many people were killed and dozens were injured when activists of a non-political Islamic group clashed with police in Bangladesh’s largest port city according to the sources. But most astonishingly none of the Indian channel and print media bothered to air or publish a single line about the ongoing clash in Bangladesh.
If we trace back to the history, the separation of East Pakistan in 1971 has resulted as a disagreement between Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Sheikh Mujib ur Rehman when the later got victorious over the former in elections held in 1970. As Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was not agreed to hand over the authority to Sheikh Mujib ur Rehman, India which was led by Indira Gandhi at that time took an advantage of the situation and interfered in the matter, extended India’s support to East Pakistan and so the new country Bangladesh came into being. While on the other hand history also says that due to discrimination in economy and rulling powers against them the East Pakistani vigorously protested and declared its independence on March 26, 1971 under the leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman.
