King Charles has drawn a line to assert their control amid speculation over Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the future of the crown.
A royal insider said: “The King knows exactly what the monarchy and the people need. They have already drawn a line to ensure they will not be trapped by any circumstances or turmoil.”
It comes amid reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have rejected the monarch’s ‘private citizens’ label.
“The question now is what the Sussexes’ next move will be. There are already whispers that some royal members pushed the monarch toward unpopular decisions,” the insider added.
Harry and Meghan’s possibale bid to reclaim royal status has hit a wall for now. Yet Palace insider suggests “a path back remains as long as they avoid supporting actions that weaken the monarchy and the people it serves.”
The Sussexes were not expecting that stance from the King, especially after their recent reunion with him.
The coupe have returned to the UK with their children but in a plot twist, they now have a problem with privacy.
King Charles confirmed that the Sussexes were not returning to royal duties in a letter sent to government departments and military officials on September 7 by the Lord Chamberlain on his behalf.
A Palace insider has categorically denied any link between the letter and the security question as protection matters fall within the government’s domain.
