KP Budget reflects mega projects: Asif Khan

PESHAWAR:  Member Provincial Assembly and Focal Person for mega projects, Asif Khan told that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Government striving to restore the actual image and importance of Peshawar including cultural activities and celebrations. He while interacting to the President of Peshawar Press and other senior journalists has said that the government is keen to open all the historical places in Peshawar to the public and attract the international tourists and traders. The legislator added that in the recent past he met with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan regarding the revival plan of Peshawar, approved funds for various activities including food streets in historic Qissa Khwani Bazar, beautification of Chowk-e-Yadgar, construction of Parks in multiple spots of the city. New air-conditioned Funeral Ambulances will be provided to all towns of Peshawar to shift the funerals to the graveyard, as the existing old buses often stuck in huge traffic flow, The Focal Person added. To a question about street crimes in the city, Member assembly told that installation of security cameras on all roads and extensions of the city are part the revival activities, which will help to trace the criminals and bring security in the locality.

While answering to a question about the mega projects, Asif Khan told that upcoming mega projects are reflecting in the current budget passed by his government. The work on the new General Bus Stand is about to start along with the remaining section of the northern loop of the Ring Road. The construction work on the improvement of South Section of Ring Road, De-Tour road and completion of Hazar Khwani have been planned while number of schemes have been planned to improve urban aesthetics of the city which include beautification of BRT corridor, illumination of green belts and parks, beautification of canals, and plantation on the Govt Trunk Road, Ring Road and Jamrud road, he briefed.  It was told that in a time Peshawar was one of the center for tourism and trades but unfortunately due to lack of attention and priorities gradually this historic city lost its importance, however the present government reinstates its real value and he dream once again as the city of flowers, the focal person mentioned.
