Chairman Kashmir Council for EU presents book highlighting human rights violations in occupied Kashmir; PM reiterates full support for Kashmir freedom movement

Islamabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, met Chairman Kashmir Council for the European Union, Ali Raza Syed, at Jammu and Kashmir House.

During the meeting, Ali Raza Syed presented the Prime Minister with the manuscript of the book Wait and See, authored by a European writer. The book highlights serious human rights violations committed by Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir through photographic evidence. It was informed that the book’s launch ceremony will be held in Muzaffarabad on January 29, where Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore will be the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the services of Ali Raza Syed for the Kashmir cause. He said that the Human Rights Award received by Ali Raza Syed in 2023 was a great honour for the Kashmiri people. He added that Ali Raza Syed has consistently raised his voice at international forums, conferences and through statements against grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, and in support of the right to self determination, religious freedom and the release of Hurriyat leaders.

The Prime Minister said that as the base camp government, all resources of Azad Kashmir are dedicated to the Kashmir freedom movement, which remains the top priority. He expressed confidence that Indian illegally occupied Kashmir would soon be freed from Indian control and that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir would accede to Pakistan. Chairman Kashmir Council for the European Union Ali Raza Syed thanked the Prime Minister for the honour and congratulated him on assuming office. He said that as the son of a prominent political leader, politics is in his upbringing, and that not only the people of Azad Kashmir but also those of occupied Kashmir have high expectations from his leadership. He prayed for the Prime Minister’s success.
