PM AJK reiterates resolve to bring good governance

Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has said that the AJK government is focusing on digitalization to improve governance and bring transparency to the system.
While speaking to different delegations here on Monday, he said that without better governance, the state cannot progress. The system of checks and balances, transparency, and accountability are fundamental for establishing good governance.
The PM said that the public resources should not be misused, and elected representatives should be accountable to the people. As the Prime Minister, he has presented himself for accountability.
“The government has reduced its expenses, starting with minimizing the expenditure of the Prime Minister’s office, so that abuse of public resources does not occur”, he added.
He said that the society cannot progress without accountability. The process of reforms has been initiated in the public offices to improve the system so that people’s issues are resolved in a timely manner.
The Prime Minister said that to improve the economy, everyone needs to work together. In the era of global economics, information technology has gained central importance. Digital technology has become an important force for economic development.
He said that societies that do not have a system of checks and balances never progress; instead, they generate more problems day by day. Efforts are being made to ensure attendance and discipline in government offices so that people’s issues are resolved in a timely manner.
He was of the view that effective financial discipline is being established in departments, the execution of funds and its regular monitoring are underway. Instructions have been given to the relevant authorities for the standardized and timely completion of development projects.
He said that they are working on digitizing the system in Azad Kashmir so that transparency can be achieved in the system and the complexities of paperwork can be eliminated. The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that he is aware of the problems of the people, and solving public issues is the responsibility of the government and a top priority.
He said that development and progress projects have been included in the budget for the well-being and happiness of the people, so that maximum facilities are available to the people.
