Pakistan has been at the forefront of the relief efforts, with a special military aircraft en route to the region from Turkey to carry aid supplies. On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued an order to the concerned authorities to dispatch an additional 142 tons of relief goods to the quake-affected areas of Turkiye and Syria.

On Friday morning, a Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight carrying 12 tons of supplies left Pakistan, and another national airline special flight carrying 30 tons of relief supplies is expected to depart Islamabad soon.

In the meantime, a 40-ton aid shipment is scheduled to leave for Turkiye tomorrow (Saturday).

The World Bank has pledged a rehabilitation fund of $1.78 billion for the earthquake victims, and the United States of America has also announced assistance in the amount of $85 million.

Britain has sent a lot of thermal blankets to the victims to help them through the cold, and a field hospital is also going to be built in the areas that are likely to have earthquakes.

The international community has banded together to assist and support the affected areas in the wake of this devastating disaster. The earthquake victims will benefit greatly from these efforts, as will the rebuilding of the devastated communities.

In an interview with the media, PM Shehbaz stated that victims in Turkiye and Syria are in immediate need of winter clothing.

He added that the Turkish aircraft is currently loading winterized goods and will soon land there.

The Turkish leadership had been at the forefront of appealing to other nations for assistance when Pakistan was devastated by floods.

Additionally, PM Shehbaz stated that four tons of winterized tents, 32 tons of single-ply tents, blankets, and dry food had been sent.

Nevertheless, Rs10 billion had been set aside for earthquake victims’ rehabilitation.

Through air and sea routes, 1,440 tons of aid will be delivered to Turkiye and Syria.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan urged Pakistanis to make as much money as possible available for the victims’ families.
