ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif forwarded a summary of the appointment of JUI-Haji F’s Ghulam Ali as the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to President Dr. Arif Alvi.
Ali should be appointed as KP’s governor, according to the summary, in accordance with Article 101 of the Constitution.
The summary stated that the President should name Haji Ghulam Ali as the Governor of the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and sign the Commission of Appointment/apply the Green Seal in accordance with Article 101 of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s 1973 Constitution.
Since April, KP Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has served as the province’s interim governor following the resignation of PTI’s Shah Farman.
From March 2009 to March 2015, Ali was a senator. From 2012 to 2015, he served on the Senate’s Standing Committee on Commerce.
From 2009 to 2012, he presided over the Senate Standing Committee on Information & Broadcasting.
