ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi authorised the regularisation of three more justices for the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday (IHC).
Justices Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan, Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Saman Rafat Imtiaz are among the additional justices, according to a statement released by the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The announcement stated that the president “regularised the additional judges” in accordance with his authority under Article 175-A(13) of the Constitution.
Athar Minallah, a former chief justice of the IHC, and three other high court judges were all promoted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan earlier in November.
The new chief justice of the IHC, Justice Amir Farooq, was then sworn in. During a ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Arif Alvi swore Justice Farooq in as the IHC Chief Justice.
