Bradford: Former Prime Minister and former Speaker of the Pakistan National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, met with the Central President of Azad Kashmir Overseas Advisory Council, Khalid Mahmood Khaliq, at their residence in Bradford, United Kingdom. They presented a digital Quran Majid as a gift and discussed the political situation in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, issues of expatriates, and upcoming elections.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf appreciated Khalid Mahmood Khaliq’s efforts on behalf of the Overseas Community. During the meeting, President of the People’s Party of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, was also present. Raja Pervez Ashraf emphasized the role of expatriates as the backbone of the economy.
He praised the commendable services of the Overseas Advisory Council and expressed hope that under the leadership of Raja Khalid Mahmood Khaliq, the council would continue its services for the expatriate community. President of the People’s Party of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, also acknowledged the efforts of the Overseas Advisory Council and mentioned that a significant number of Kashmiris reside in the United Kingdom. He highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Overseas Advisory Council in addressing the community’s current issues.
