Islamabad: In a disturbing trend, Rawalpindi and Islamabad have seen a spike in violent incidents targeting Kashmiri residents, raising serious concerns among the community members across Pakistan. The alarming frequency of killings and the grim discovery of bodies, particularly near the borders of Azad Kashmir, has sent shockwaves through the Kashmiri populace.

The latest tragic episode unfolded on the resident of Muzaffarabad, Syed Zia, employed at Bank Al-Habib, whose body was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his apartment. Zia, who had been sharing his accommodation with a person named Usman for the past two months, was discovered lifeless in his room last week. Family members of the deceased have voiced strong demands for a thorough investigation into Zia’s death, refuting claims by authorities that it was a suicide and urging for the swift apprehension of those responsible for the heinous act.

The funeral prayers for Syed Zia drew a significant turnout, with political, social, and religious figures, along with a large gathering of local residents, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family. Members of the Assembly, including Chaudhry Rashid and Syed Bazil Naqvi, offered their condolences and pledged to address the issue of targeted killings of Kashmiris in the legislative body. They emphasized the urgent need for an investigation into the motives behind these attacks and called for swift justice to ensure the safety and security of the Kashmiri community.

The escalating violence has sparked widespread outrage and calls for decisive action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further bloodshed in the region.
