Neelum : Technical Officer of the International Health Organization (PHC) in Azad Kashmir, Dr. Bushra Shams, has said that trained public health staff can play a vital role in the diagnosis of diseases, administering vaccines, and reporting.
She was speaking to a workshop held in the District Health Office on Thursday. She said that the health department in AJK has greatly improved public health through vaccinating the minors against various diseases to improve the immune defense system among children..
The workshop was attended by doctors and vaccine coordinators from various health centers of Neelum district. The participants of the workshop utilized the session to enhance their knowledge in vaccine management.
District Health Officer, Dr. Sardar Zafar Iqbal , Dr. Sajjad Maghul, Dr. Fatima Junaid, Assistant Director EPI Mubashir Gilani also threw light on the importance of vaccination.
They informed the workshop that the series of vaccination is started just after the birth of a child, which goes up to the age of 18 months to children.
During their speeches, the medical experts provided detailed information regarding vaccine management through a projector. UNICEF consultant Khawaja Lashkar Hussain Azad Supervisor District Health Office Chaudhry Javed and Dr. Zia-ud-Din Zia were also present on the occasion.
