Senator says the ‘biggest rally in the history of Pakistan’ will be held at Azadi Chowk on March 27
ISLAMABAD:
Senator Faisal Javed Khan on Monday said that the National Assembly session on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan would take place after March 27.
The PTI leader made the announcement on Twitter and added that the “biggest rally in the history of Pakistan” would be held on Sunday, March 27 at Islamabad’s Azadi Chowk, Islamabad.
“The opposition would face complete defeat in the no-confidence motion which would take place after March 27,” Javed said.
On March 8, the united opposition front submitted a no-confidence motion against the chief executive of the country while pinning its hopes for the success of the motion on the estranged members of the ruling party and its allies.
Earlier today, Planning Minister Asad Umar said that a ‘sea of people’ would be welcomed at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on March 27.
“We will make history. Imran Khan is a symbol of the unity of the nation. He would deliver a message of fear for the looters,” the minister said.
Asad added that with the full support of the people and God’s help, PM Imran had put Pakistan on the path of progress and prosperity.
” A group of people with vested interests wants to block the path of development of Pakistan and push the nation towards degradation,” the minister said. “We will not allow it.”
Umar urged the members of national and provincial assemblies and officials to mobilize people nationwide.
He added that Central Additional Secretary-General and Member National Assembly Amir Mahmood Kayani would oversee the arrangements for the gathering.
