Documentary on legendary rapper The DOC, featuring Eminem and Dr. Dre will hit the theatres in Spring 2023, per ROCK THE BELLS.
The Dave Caplan-directed movie centres on the D.O.C. as he weighs undergoing a risky experimental operation to repair his vocal chords 30 years after being seriously hurt in a car accident that also took his voice.

The DOC, a musician best known for co-founding Death Row Records and mentoring Snoop Dogg, was born Tracy Lynn Curry in 1968.
The movie had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last year. The Hip-Hop superstar, whose influential 1989 album No One Can Do It Better and collaboration with Dr. Dre and NWA solidified his position as one of rap’s finest, spoke with ROCK THE BELLS.
At the time, he claimed, “All of us, the director, the producer, the editor—all of these folks were really geniuses in their own area.

In a statement, Vertical partner Peter Jarowey stated, “Watching his incredible life unfold on screen is like witnessing the history of hip-hop take place right in front of your eyes, as seen by industry giants who regard him as a friend, collaborator, and mentor. This wonderful journey should be seen by everyone, and we are happy to be able to present it this spring.

The film picks up 30 years later, as he mulls over a risky experimental procedure that might repair his vocal cords.
The DOC is featured in the movie. To tell the rapper’s life story and legacy in the music industry, the movie will feature interviews with legends from the industry in addition to Eminem and Dr. Dre, such as Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Too $hort, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, Tone Loc, Big Boy, Sir Jinx, DJ Yella, Jewell, and Dr. Rock.

After receiving its global premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, Vertical Entertainment will release the film in theatres in the spring of 2023.
