The Election Commission(EC) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has announced the schedule for bye pools on the vacant seat of Legislative Assembly LA 15 Bagh -2, where elections would be held on 8th June instant.
The seat was vacant after the disqualification of former Prime Minister AJK Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan by the AJK High Court .As per schedule announced by the Election Commission , the candidates may submit their nomination papers by 10th May , whereas the scrutiny of these papers would be carried out on 11th May . After the completion of security the preliminary list of candidates would be issued.
The candidates can file applications against rejection of their nomination papers till 15th May, on which the hearing would be held on 16th May in the office of Election Commission AJK, whereas the decisions on these appeals would be announced on 17th May. The candidates may withdraw their papers till 18th May.
After that the second list of the candidates would be published and on 19th May the election symbols would be allotted to the candidates then the final list along with their election symbols would be published.
The spokesperson of Election Commission AJK said, in this regard, that it is compulsion for the candidates to submit an affidavit on stamp paper to the Secretary EC AJK , on which details of their moveable and immoveable property must be mentioned. The specimen of the affidavit may be obtained from the office of Election Commission AJK .
The election commission has nominated District and Session Judge Bagh , as Presiding Officer and Addition District and Session Judge , Family Court for the bye elections in Bagh
