Existence of libraries indispensable for re-connecting students with knowledge: Dr. Kaleem Abbasi

MUZAFFARABAD :(Country News): The Vice Chancellor University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi visited the Ibn-e-Khaldoon Library of the university established at King Abdullah Campus (KAC) Chatter Kallas and appreciated its management for organizing valued digital and physical knowledge resources through modern Library Information and Management System.

According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Department of the university, meritorious Professor and Chief Librarian Dr. Syed Nadeem Haider Bukhari and Deputy Chief Librarian Syed Farhat Hussain Kazmi briefed the Vice Chancellor about the book collections and other information resources available in the library for students and the faculty.

During the visit, Vice Chancellor interacted with the staff and students and said that this library holds a special place not only in the UAJK but also in the academic and literary circles of the state. “It is a matter of great pleasure that the library established in the KAC will surely prove to be an excellent source of study for the students and faculty”, he added.

The Vice-Chancellor said that libraries play a fundamental role in society and help ensure an authentic treasure of knowledge created and accumulated by past generations.

“In a world without libraries, it would be difficult to advance research and human knowledge or preserve the world’s cumulative knowledge and heritage for future generations” Dr. Abbasi commented.

The Vice-Chancellor took a round of the different sections of the university along with the Registrar Prof. Dr. Ayesha Sohail and others.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Librarian Syed Farhat Kazmi thoroughly briefed the Vice Chancellor about the physical and digital resources and facilities available in the library.
