Rawalakot: In observance of Pakistan Martyrs Day, Khadija Zareen Khan Foundation organized a series of events across all districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The main event took place in Rawalakot, in a local school where educationist and President World Sodazia Women and Youth and Chairperson KZK foundation Khadija Zareen was the chief guest.
Along with students, school administration, parents, and members of civil society were present to pay homage to the nation’s martyrs. Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan, Chairperson of Khadija Zarin Khan Foundation, expressed her profound respect for the martyrs, emphasizing their invaluable contributions in safeguarding the country.
She said that “Our martyrs are our pride and true heroes who have selflessly shed their blood to protect our homeland,”. Today, we pay tribute to all the martyrs of our nation on Martyrs’ Day, and are assuring their souls and their families that we will never forget their sacrifices.”
She further emphasized the significance of honoring martyrs, asserting that nations that forget their martyrs fade into oblivion. Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan extended gratitude to the martyrs of Kashmir, who laid down their lives in the pursuit of freedom for Kashmir and Pakistan. She specifically mentioned the names of Afzal Guru, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, Tahir Shaheed, Waqas Shaheed, and Nadeem Khateeb .
“Today, as we renew our pledge, it is crucial to break down the walls of animosity for the development and prosperity of Pakistan, as well as the Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan,” Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan emphasized. “We must not only remember the sacrifices made by our beloved country’s martyrs, but also safeguard their sanctity and never question their valour.”
