Starting rehabilitation of women, juvenile drug addicts: Israr Matta

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Human Development Organization (PHDO), is starting rehabilitation and medical assistance for juvenile and woman drug addicts in the prisons of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Chairperson of the PHDO Sidra Sami and Chief Executive Israr Matta during.a visit to Peshawar Central Jail said that the organisation has a mission to clean the society of drugs and they are foucsed on bringing the young adddicts back to normal life. The delegation engaged in a constructive dialogue with jail officials and interacted with juvenile drug addicts and women prisoners. The focus of the discussion centred around devising strategies to reintegrate these individuals into normal life. With a commitment to rehabilitation, the PHDO team aims to address the challenges faced by the incarcerated, fostering a path towards a brighter future for those seeking redemption.

PHDO Chairperson Sidra Sami said, that the PHDO team will work on health services across all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) jails, emphasizing the importance of holistic care for the incarcerated population. With this initiative, the organization aims to address not only rehabilitation but also the overall well-being of those in custody, fostering a path towards a brighter and healthier future.

Chief executive of PHDO, Israr Matta said that, this project will be initiated from central PHDO jail Peshawar and it will be extended to allover Khyber Pakhtunkwa jails.

Isrsr Matta said that PHDO is working on drug rehabilitation of younger especially juveniles.

He said hospital and drug Center of PHDO is offering services in Peshawar and soon these centres will be established throughout Khyber Pakhtunkwa.
