SWABI: The Family of a newborn baby has accused doctors and hospital staff of negligence in provision of treatment which led to his death.
Sajid, a resident of chota lahor swabi told journalists on Wednesday that he took his wife to Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor, after she went into labour, adding that the newborn child was delivered normally.The hospital staff referred my baby to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit through my mother. My mother was unaware with the hospital so she did not know about the NICU, he added, when the child was taken to the NICU, he had died.
My newborn baby died because of the hospital staff negligence , the health department should take action against the involved elements, the victim’s father demanded. “It was right to transfer the newborn to the NICU by my mother an unaware lady, he questioned, if the hospital staff had taken my child, maybe he would have survived.
When contacted, Hospital Focal Person, Raham Yousafzai while confirming the incident said that the issue is in the notice of authorities, adding that the incident is being investigated and findings would be shared with the media.
Responding to a question, he said if the health officials concerned were found guilty of negligence, they would be dealt with as per law.
