OKARA: Green Bus Staff Assaulted, Suspect Arrested After DPO Takes Strict

The Okara District Police Officer (DPO) has taken strict notice of an alleged assault on the staff of the Green Bus Service and directed police to take immediate legal action against those involved.
According to police, the incident occurred near the Eastern Bypass, where a young man allegedly assaulted and manhandled members of the Green Bus staff. A case was registered on the complaint of an FC official deployed on the bus.
Acting promptly, personnel of Sadar Okara Police Station arrested the nominated suspect, identified as Faraz. Police said further legal proceedings are underway in accordance with the law.
Green Bus Captain Nasir appreciated the prompt response of the Okara Police and expressed his gratitude to the police authorities for taking immediate action. He also issued a video statement thanking the police for their cooperation and timely response.
The Okara Police spokesperson said that the dignity and safety of citizens, as well as personnel performing public-service duties, would not be compromised.
The spokesperson reiterated that the Okara Police are following a zero-tolerance policy against violence and misbehavior, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands.
The police further stated that protecting the lives, property and dignity of citizens remains one of their foremost responsibilities, and offenders will be dealt with strictly and without discrimination.
